Mumtaz Hussain

I was born in 1947. I am Pakistani by birth. I have done MSc Environmental Engineering, MSc (Hons) Soil Science, BSc (Hons) Agriculture and BSc Civil Engineering. I have authored three books on environment (i) Environmental Degradation: Realities & Remedies (ii) Maholiati Aloodgi & (iii) Textbook for Matriculation.
I have special interest in undertaking Environmental Assessment assignments and have completed environmental assessment of 300 developmental projects in Pakistan. I have worked with leading environmental consultancy companies of Pakistan.
I am an active environmentalist. I am Chairman of three NGOs namely Environment Media Forum, Society for Conservation of Environment & Sustainable Development and National Foundation for Environmental Education & Research.
I have participated in a large number of courses, workshops, seminars, conferences and symposia on environmental issues both at home and abroad. I am a visiting faculty in many distinguished institutions in the Country. I regularly contribute in the local and foreign journals. I am member of government and non-governmental technical bodies.
I have visited USA, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Germany, France, UAE, United Kingdom, Italy, Korea, Holland, Belgium, India, China, Ireland, Turkey, Indonesia and Australia in connection with environmental, engineering events and studying environmental establishments/projects. I am Chief Editor of The Environ Monitor (Leading Environmental Journal of Pakistan) striving for Environmental Excellence.
I have undertaken extensive research in Divine Injunctions on environment.
I am a strong proponent of Peace through Environment.
