ABSTRACT
The TNI Stationary Source Audit Sample (SSAS) Program uses a table of methods and analytes, called the SSAS Table, which defines the parameters and acceptance criteria that apply to SSAS. When the SSAS Program launched in June 2013, the SSAS Table was comprised of those methods and analytes that were included when the EPA administered its own SSAS program. Implicit in the TNI SSAS Program, however, is the intent to expand the SSAS Table to include additional methods and analytes not previously audited, to offer audits at new concentrations that better suit real-world needs and conditions, and to design audit samples that equally challenge the Stationary Source Tester as well as the Laboratory.
This talk will focus on the methodology and procedures that the TNI SSAS Expert Committee has developed to address how to expand the SSAS Table and grow the TNI SSAS Program. The SSAS Table Management SOP will be reviewed, and the challenges posed in collecting data for new audits while balancing the interests of the source owner, regulatory, stack testing, and analytical communities will be discussed.
