ABSTRACT
EPA methods that are used to analyze pollutants in wastewater are published at 40 CFR Part 136. The EPA may consider new test procedures, or new alternative test procedures (ATPs) developed by laboratories, consensus organizations, or instrument manufacturers for inclusion at 40 CFR Part 136. This presentation describes steps that must be followed prior to acceptance of new or alternative procedures intended for nationwide use under the authority of the Clean Water Act.
