ABSTRACT
Management of public water supplies and treatment plant influents and effluents often requires monitoring of total nitrogen. Traditionally, total nitrogen is measured as the sum of TKN and nitrate plus nitrite nitrogen. High Temperature Catalytic Oxidation (HTCO) coupled with chemiluminescence detection enables rapid and continuos monitoring of total nitrogen. This presentation will describe the measurement including sample introduction and theory of operation.
