Tarun Anumol

Tarun Anumol is a fourth year Ph.D. student in the Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering at the University of Arizona advised by Dr. Shane Snyder. He has a Master of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from India. Tarun’s research revolves around occurrence, fate and transport of “Emerging Contaminants” like Pharmaceuticals, Endocrine-disruptors and Personal-care products in water systems and their effects on human health.

He has developed several methods for sensitive quantification of pharmaceuticals, pesticides and endocrine disruptors using tandem mass spectromeers in various environmental matrices. Presently, he is working on high resolution time of flight mass spectrometers for identification of transformation products during ozonation of water.
