Richard Helmich
Richard Helmich joined the US Environmental Protection Agency’s National Enforcement and Investigations Center in Denver, Colorado as a chemist in September 2013. At the EPA, he is a member of the chromatography and NMR group, and performs environmental chemistry analysis of samples to support a clean environment for future generations. Before joining the EPA, he worked for the Mine Safety and Health Administration analyzing gases in underground mining environments. Richard earned his PhD in materials chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under Prof. Ken Suslick, and studied chemistry as an undergraduate at the University of Florida.
