Anand Mudambi


Anand R. Mudambi is a chemist and has been working for the U.S. EPA in Washington DC since 1998. In his current position at the Office of Research and Development, Dr. Mudambi is the coordinator for the EPA’s Laboratory Enterprise Council (LEC). The LEC consists of senior EPA managers responsible for the Agency’s laboratories. Its members advise and guide efforts to:
• increase collaboration and communication across the lab enterprise; and
• improve the effectiveness and efficiency of laboratory operations.

Prior to joining ORD, he worked in EPA’s Office of Water where he developed and tested plans for coordinating local, state, and federal laboratory responses to water contamination incidents. He has also worked in US EPA’s Superfund program where he developed guidance documents for analytical data review and electronic reporting requirements for laboratory analytical data. Before joining EPA, he worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers as an auditor for their National Laboratory Validation program.

Anand has a Ph.D. in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from the State University of New York at Syracuse, and Master’s in Organic Chemistry from the University of Mumbai, India.
