Jacob Oaxaca is a Senior Environmental Scientist for the California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP). Mr. Oaxaca serves as senior technical advisor; and is a liaison between ELAP, laboratories, and State regulatory programs on the most complex projects. Mr. Oaxaca changed the landscape of environmental testing in California by leading the development and implementation of new ELAP regulations. Most recently, Mr. Oaxaca has taken on the role of the Designated ELAP Officer for California’s Environmental Laboratory Technical Advisory Committee where he is helping address current and emerging environmental monitoring and laboratory accreditation issues. Mr. Oaxaca holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and has worked as an Environmental Chemist conducting field sampling and project management for environmental remediation and compliance projects. Prior to joining ELAP, Mr. Oaxaca worked as a Research Technician with Chevron’s Fuel Technology and Additives Division in Richmond, CA, where he performed sample analysis for product identification and product integrity.
