Eric Blank

Dr. Eric C. Blank is the Chief Program Officer at the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL). He received his B.S. degree from Utah State University (1973), and his MPH (1980) and Dr.P.H. (1982) from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He has spent his entire career in public health focusing on public health laboratory practice and leadership. He was the director of the Missouri State Public Health Laboratory for 21 years and retired from that position in 2008. He served on the ASTHO Senior Deputies Committee from 2002-2008 and the national Exploring Public Health Accreditation Task Force (2006-2007). He has participated in numerous consultations domestically and internationally advising on public health laboratory science, practice and policy. He has been in his present position since 2011.
