ABSTRACT
Panel discussion led by Jerry Parr, David Thal and Richard Burrows.
With apologies to Charles Dickens, this presentation will examine demons from our past that have been (mostly) successfully exorcised, such as bulk sampling for soil volatiles; and bugbears in our present that we are wrestling with now, where the path forward is apparent but regression is still possible, such as appropriate calibration. Lessons learnt from these struggles will be applied to hobgoblins that we know exist but will have to confront in the future, such as electron capture detector methods.
