Jon Sobus

Jon Sobus, Ph.D., is a physical scientist in the U.S. EPA’s National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL) in Research Triangle Park, NC. He is also a member of the graduate faculty at UNC Chapel Hill in the Gillings School of Global Public Health, Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering. At EPA, Dr. Sobus serves as a task leader for “Rapid Exposure and Dosimetry” research under the “Chemical Safety for Sustainability” national program. Dr. Sobus’s specific research activities include field monitoring, laboratory analyses of environmental and biological media using high-resolution mass spectrometry, and analyses of complex datasets using statistical models. Dr. Sobus received his B.S. in Environmental Health Science from Salisbury University in 2002, and his Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from UNC Chapel Hill in 2008.
