Marie Russell
Marie Russell is an environmental health fellowship program participant hosted by Lara Phelps, Senior Advisor of the US EPA’s Office of the Science Advisor in Research Triangle Park, NC. Marie worked in education and outreach at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology from 2010 to 2013, where she learned about the benefits of citizen science through eBird, as well as the potential for innovative technology to provide real-time data through the Lab-on-a-Bird project. She earned her MPH degree in environmental health from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, where she studied the impact of coal-fired power plants on ambient air quality in Pittsburgh.
