ABSTRACT
Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Programs are charged with reviewing approved analytical methods used for regulatory purposes. Method validation and approval is not the responsibility of the accrediting body which is a common misunderstanding. Regulatory programs are charged with selection of validated methods that meets their regulatory objectives. At that point methods get approved through promulgation or referenced in guidance documents depending on overarching statutes. This presentation will discuss how CA ELAP will be implementing a process for the addition of analytical methods in its Field of Testing offerings.
