Emilie Bédard
Emilie Bedard has a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and she is part of the NSERC Drinking Water Industrial Chair research team at Polytechnique Montreal. Over the last 7 years, she has developed expertise on opportunistic pathogens occurrence and control in large building premise plumbing. More specifically, she is currently working with hospitals to perform water system assessments and analysis based on temperature monitoring to identify risk areas for Legionella growth. She is also working on the evaluation of risks associated with the implementation of energy and water saving measures, and collaborating on a project with Prof. Faucher from McGill on the control of L. pneumophila in water from cooling towers.
