Kristen Ward - Moderator
Kristen Ward is the ICEDM Best Management Practices Lead and has over 9 years of experience in the collection, management and visualization of environmental data. She is a Data Manager at Langan where she works as the lead of all environmental data management projects. Her area of expertise include, field mobile data collection technologies, database design and management, data reporting and visualization and the development of corporate-wide standards and best management practices. Kristen received her B.S. in Geology from Kutztown and her M.S. in Hydrogeology from West Virginia University.
Brooke Roecker has over ten years of experience bringing together environmental data with technology solutions in the environmental industry. She is a senior data analyst with ddms, Inc., where she works as the technical data lead for the environmental data group. She specializes in database oversight and management, scripting solutions, data analysis, 2D/3D modeling, and project/technical team coordination. Ms. Roecker has a BS in Geology from the University of Wisconsin and an MS in GIS/Resource Analysis from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. Brooke is leading the ICEDM Best Management Practices Subcommittee on Historical/Legacy Data.
Chris Mickle is the Environmental Database Practice Lead at Cardno in the Americas Region. He has a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Northeastern University in Boston, and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in geospatial information and science technology at North Carolina State University. Chris has been working with environmental data using EQuIS since EarthSoft’s first release in the 1990’s and has implemented EQuIS for data management on projects in EPA Regions 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, and 10. He also continues to support the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC) use of EQuIS. Chris has also utilized several other commercial off the shelf (COTS) environmental management systems (EMS) such as Enviance, Intellex, and Locus Focus, and has also deployed custom systems designed and built with SQL Server and Microsoft .NET web interfaces. Chris is currently a member of the Advisory Committee on Water Information (ACWI) Subcommittee on Spatial Water Data (SSWD) and promotes best practices and standardization of environmental information and data structures that support open software development and data sharing across multiple frameworks and platforms.
Sarah Wright is a Senior Scientist at ERM and Co-Chair of the International Conference of Environmental Data Management (ICEDM). Ms. Wright has over fifteen years of experience related to environmental projects and environmental management information systems (EMIS) technologies. Ms. Wright is currently working with ERM managing data for large remediation, air monitoring and industrial sites. Ms. Wright has implemented data management systems and trained data management teams throughout the world. In addition to system implementations, Sarah is skilled at providing needs assessments and system audits allowing organizations to maximize their efficiencies and ensure high data quality.
