Caroline Tuit

Dr. Tuit is a senior environmental chemist with more than 15 years of experience evaluating the fate, transport, and bioavailability of chemicals in the environment. She is experienced in designing cost-effective sampling plans, interpreting environmental and characterization data, and evaluating data quality. At Gradient, Dr. Tuit provides technical support for environmental forensic, hazard and risk assessment, and product characterization and registration projects. Before joining Gradient, she was a Hess postdoctoral fellow in the geosciences department of Princeton University, where she studied trace-metal bioavailability and toxicity in denitrifying bacteria. She received her Ph.D. in Oceanography from the MIT/WHOI Joint Program, where she authored a thesis on the marine biogeochemistry of molybdenum.
