ABSTRACT

This presentation will cover the intersections of Citizen Science, Research, and Policy as they converge to create a landscape of new science and public health. These connections as they relate to governmental sectors, individual initiatives, special-interest groups, professional associations, and the like will be discussed.

In particular, key organizations from the public health and environmental arena which incorporate citizen science, emerging data, and new research will be covered.

Specific examples from the 'real world' will be showcased and used as examples to illustrate these 'scientific landscape' connections and networks. Such cases include : translating data to the media, communicating information to key populations, and interpreting research for policy makers.

Successful outcomes of the work/research provided from these examples which "impact the landscape of science" will be highlighted, as well.
