ABSTRACT
As technology continues to advance, laboratories are required to track more and more data that needs to be easily accessible and stored within an application for reporting and auditing purposes. Labs typically turn to Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and/or an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) to meet these needs. We will explore the primary purpose of each type of application, plus discuss if both systems are still needed as software evolves.
