ABSTRACT

Method 625 is used to analyze semi-volatile organics in wastewater for clean water act reporting. The method is capable of pesticide analysis; however, due to the lack of sensitivity of full scan GCMS compared to GC-ECD, pesticides are most often analyzed by method 608. New GCMS technology makes it possible to run semi-volatile organics by GCMS in full scan mode simultaneously with pesticides using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM). Combining pesticide and semi-volatile analysis into one extraction and one injection eliminates the need for a separate method 608 analysis removing a significant bottleneck in your laboratory productivity.
