ABSTRACT
EPA approves analytical methods for use in protecting water quality through the issuance of regulations at 40 CFR Part 136. These methods are approved for use in National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits that are applied to discharges of wastewater into surface water bodies, referred to as point source discharges. This presentation will discuss how the approved analytical methods are applied and used when NPDES permits are issued to point source discharges.
