ABSTRACT
As we embrace a world of big data analytics where almost any type of data, personally identifiable or not, has the potential to contribute to significant economic and societal benefits, there appears to be a conflict between the innovation that can come from big data analytical processes and privacy. A number of initiatives are looking as ways to preserve the best outcomes for individuals and for society while still respecting the differing privacy laws that exist around the world. This session will explore the various approaches and comment on what seems most likely to be successful.
