ABSTRACT
Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) are an effective tool for the laboratory in many areas. CRMs are an integral part of a robust Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program for the laboratory. They can be used to gain and maintain ISO 17025 certification, control chart analytical processes, aid in the training of laboratory personnel, provide daily checks of analyses, and ultimately improve the defensibility of the data being produced by the laboratory.
