Gary Sides
Gary D. Sides, a Senior Research Leader at Battelle Memorial Institute, has more than 30 years of experience in the development and manufacture of automated, near-real-time monitoring systems for airborne chemical agents and other organic chemicals. He also founded CMS Research Corporation, now a division of OI Corporation, and developed and manufactured NRT monitoring systems and numerous monitoring accessory products from 1986-1998. Since 1998, he has continued his involvement in instrumentation through such activities as developing third-party accessory products for existing air monitoring systems, developing a new air monitoring system at Battelle, and presenting at national and international conferences on chemical defense and environmental monitoring. Since 2009, Dr. Sides has served as the Chief Scientist for Battelle’s Demilitarization Business Unit. He has a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Florida.
