ABSTRACT

Analysis by split injection has many benefits: elevated starting oven temperatures shorten run times and increase throughput while fast sample transfer improves chromatographic performance. Most importantly, inlet discrimination and adsorptive loss are minimized, even after running many dirty samples, extending inlet liner and analytical column life (minimizing downtime). This presentation will demonstrate how reporting limits can be maintained and dynamic calibration ranges extended by optimizing detector settings when split injection is properly implemented.
