ABSTRACT
The EPA Office of Water is promulgating Method 608.3 for Organochlorine Pesticides and PCBs by GC/HSD in the 2017 Clean Water Act Methods Update Rule for the Analysis of Effluent. The original Method 608 was promulgated in 1984. The primary changes include technology updates, inclusion of additional contaminants in “Table 2 Additional Analytes” that are mostly unregulated contaminants under the Clean Water Act, increased flexibility for using solid phase extraction, and updated QC requirements. The presentation also summarizes the most commonly received comments from the proposed rule.
