Gabrielle Pecora

Gabrielle Pecora is a PhD candidate in the Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry Graduate Group at University of California, Davis. Prior to beginning her graduate work, she was an Affiliate Researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the Earth Sciences Division for 3 years, where she focused on developing and implementing a field DNA extraction technique that allowed for easy sample collection and microbial community testing of human waste-derived compost in Port au Prince, Haiti. Pecora obtained a Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology from Dominican University of California where she graduated Dean’s List, a member of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honors Society, Chi Alpha Sigma National Collegiate Athlete Honors Society and was the recipient of Dominican University’s Outstanding Student in Environmental Science Award in 2010 and the Distinguished Recent Alumni Award in 2015. Pecora is currently a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and is researching the endocrine activity of compounds originating from consumer products in sewage sludge.
