Rachel Mohler

Rachel E. Mohler, joined the Chevron Energy Technology Company in 2007 after receiving her Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Washington. She is currently a Technical Team Leader (Gas Chromatography) in the Petroleum Materials Characterization unit. Since joining Chevron she has managed research projects and is a technical leader in the areas of chemical and chemometric analysis by GC, GC-MS and especially by two dimensional GC (GCxGC) for applications to the petroleum industry, including environmental issues. In the last 5 years she has concentrated on taking the lab to the field, with projects such as the evaluation of portable instruments and the development of groundwater sensors for monitoring benzene. She has more than 20 publications and one patent. She serves as a reviewer for multiple journals including Environmental Science and Technology (an ACS journal) and Journal of Chromatography A. She provides analytical consultation within Chevron Refining and the Environmental Management Company. Her skills in chemistry and chemometric analysis have been repeatedly applied to Chevron’s Environmental Forensics data. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Marquette University.
