ABSTRACT
The search for the proverbial “hidden mass” has led many analytical laboratories down paths that had not been anticipated when we first embarked on implementing the practices outlined in Erica Houtz’s paper from 2012. The range and variety of matrices that are being evaluated is considerably different than the applications listed in the original paper. High TOC content, particulate matter and biphasic samples are examples of the matrices that have presented unique challenges. This presentation will provide an overview of those challenges and the approaches used to overcome them.
