ABSTRACT

Focusing on the recently released EPA PFAS Action Plan, Ms. Walker’s speech will provide insight into both the short-term solutions and long-term strategies identified for addressing PFAS chemicals.  Such solutions and strategies will provide tools and technologies necessary to clean up sites and provide clean and safe drinking water.  Through collaboration and coordination with other federal agencies, states, tribes, local governments, water utilities, industry, and the public, EPA’s implementation of the Action Plan will be focused on key areas related to drinking water, clean up, toxics, enforcement, monitoring, research, and risk communication.  EPA will continue to explore other areas where PFAS can be addressed which include considering the addition of PFAS chemicals to the Toxics Release Inventory, and proposing regulatory determination for PFOA and PFOS.
