ABSTRACT
This talk will describe the laboratory informatics landscape on a macro-level and discuss the merging of various technologies including the introductions of AI, machine learning, cloud computing, the use of ELNs, SDMS along with the collaboration of other software packages. Where is this all going? Does AI and machine learning really belong in the environmental world of informatics? Where does the LIMS end and other programs begin? How far does any one program go and what is too far in our industry?
