ABSTRACT
This talk will focus on why there is an increased need for accredited laboratory testing for Legionella. With the publication of the ASHRAE 188 Standard, the Cooling Technology Institute Guide 159, The CDC Toolkit, the National Academy of Science Legionella Report (2019) and other documents, many building owners, from healthcare to schools, are implementing water management plans to reduce Legionnaires' disease. A review of testing methods will be covered, where and how sampling is performed and key functional roles of a water management team, including the testing lab, will be covered.
