Andy Sandy


Andy Sandy is a Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) Application Scientist at Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, USA. In 2016, he joined the company. He obtained his PHD in 2010 from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where he researched and collaborated on air water exchange of semi volatile organic compounds, particularly polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and organochlorine pesticides (OCPs). At Shimadzu he is a part of a dynamic marketing GC-MS group, which is responsible for overall sales of GC-MS products across North America, Central America and parts of South America. The product includes Single quadrupole GC-MS, Triple quadrupole GC-MS and GC-MS accessories, including head space autosamplers, thermal desorption units and robotic multipurpose autosamplers.
His everyday responsibilities include, but are not limited to, training technical support engineers and customers, developing scientific applications, researching new products and promoting the product through various marketing campaigns.
