Rahul Kumar
Dr. Rahul Kumar is currently the postdoctoral research scholar at the Biodesign Center of Environmental Health Engineering, Arizona State University. His research interests lie in the field of Environmental Chemistry, focusing on the occurrence and fate of emerging contaminants in the environment, wastewater treatment and contaminants remediation, and wastewater-based epidemiology. He obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. His doctoral dissertation focused on the fate of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) and drugs of abuse in a wastewater treatment plant of New Zealand and the photocatalytic removal of selected PPCPs with Poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polymer. He secured his master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad, India. He also has work experience in an Environmental consulting firm in India prior to joining his Ph.D.
Dr. Kumar has won prestigious awards during his career. He was the recipient of the highly competitive commonwealth scholarship to pursue his doctoral study.
