Diane Wilson

Diane Wilson is a fourth-generation shrimper, boat captain, mother of five, author, and an environmental, peace, and social justice advocate. She has been an environmental activist for 30 years. Wilson is the executive director of San Antonio Bay Estuarine Waterkeeper. She was featured in the award-winning documentary Texas Gold, and in Americans Who Tell the Truth, a portrait series by photographer Robert Shetterly. She won the Blue Planet Award in Berlin, Germany for her activist work and in March 2020 Netflix featured the SABE Waterkeeper story in Dirty Money series, Point Comfort. In 2019, Wilson and SABE Waterkeepers won the largest citizen Clean Water suit in US history: a 50 M$ settlement against Formosa Plastics for plastic pollution in Lavaca Bay.

Wilson is the author of three books: Unreasonable Woman, Diary of An Eco-Outlaw, and Holy Roller that was published by Chelsea Green Publishing. Wilson is working on her fourth book.
