ABSTRACT
Kentucky’s Energy and Environment Cabinet is currently pursuing a Wastewater Laboratory Certification Program for all organizations performing analysis of Kentucky Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (KPDES) compliance data. A summary of the process will be provided. This summary will cover from the planning states through the development of the regulation and associated documents (laboratory manual and application). Significant activities include: review of current national and state certification programs, determination of the affected universe, stakeholders’ involvement, determination of cost, drafting requirements and the technical review/editing process.
