Maura Donohue

Dr. Maura Donohue is a Principal Investigator in the Microbiological and Chemical Exposure Assessment Division (MCEARD), of the U.S. EPA’s National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL). She received her Ph.D. from the American University in Washington DC, conducting her research at the National Institute of Technology and Standards (NIST). She has worked at the U.S. EPA for the past 10 years, leading several projects related to human health.

Over the past 5 years, one of her projects has focused on incidence of Legionella and Nontuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) at human points of water usage.

Prior to joining the EPA, Maura was a lab manger at NIH’s National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD). Outside of work, she enjoys cooking Indian food for her family.
